Summer Math Activities and Ideas

Keeping connected to school is very important - especially in math. I have talked to many of the other gifted teachers about things they need for their students to be more successful. One common thing I have heard is that the students have not mastered their math facts. I will post multiple websites and resources over the summer.

Xtramath.org. is a FREE website that parents can use. The students work on it for five to ten minutes a day. It starts with basic facts and moves the students through subtraction, multiplication and division. Great resource! Students should do every day!

Cristina School District has published activities for "rising second graders." I perused the website and found two things that would be helpful. The first has printable worksheets. The second is a "math and technology days of summer" activity calendar. I love this! It gives the kids something to cross over every day!
